As part of the autumn fire prevention campaign, children were able to experience the work of firefighting officials at the Hikarigaoka fire department in Nerima-ku, Tokyo on Saturday.
Youngsters were able to learn about extinguishing a fire. They could also experience wearing firefighter uniforms, riding a fire pump truck, and being transported 30 meters high by a ladder truck.
Additionally, a demonstration was given on how to assist a choking victim since back in October, a 6th grade boy in Funabashi City in Chiba died after choking on a piece of bread which got stuck in his throat.
